NTL HEALTHCARE의 자궁경부촬영기는 자사의 AI 알고리즘을 활용하여 자궁경부 질환을 빠르고 정확하게 진단할 수 있는 의료용 촬영기입니다. 제품의 사용 환경과 목적에 최적화된 폼팩터를 갖추었으며, 한 손으로 조작이 가능하도록 설계되었습니다. 또한, 38mm 렌즈와 충분한 광량을 확보한 조명을 배치하여 정확한 촬영이 가능하도록 디자인했습니다. 터치스크린을 통해 실시간 이미지 확인이 가능하며, 그립부와 렌즈부의 결합 각도를 80도로 조정해 사용자의 편의성을 극대화했습니다. 충전 및 보관이 가능한 거치대는 즉각적인 사용이 가능하도록 독립된 그립부 형상을 적용해 안정성과 실용성을 높였습니다.
NTL HEALTHCARE’s cervical imaging device is a medical imaging tool designed to diagnose cervical conditions quickly and accurately using AI algorithms. The device features an optimized form factor tailored for medical applications and allows one-handed operation for ease of use. A 38mm lens and well-calibrated lighting ensure precise imaging, while a touch screen enables real-time image verification. The ergonomic 80-degree angle between the grip and lens enhances usability. Additionally, the charging and storage dock is designed with a separated grip structure to ensure secure storage and immediate usability.
이번 프로젝트의 핵심 목표는 다양한 사용자 환경과 인체공학적 디자인을 고려한 최적의 형태를 찾는 것이었습니다. 특히, 해외 시장을 고려하여 다양한 인종의 신체적 특성을 반영한 사이즈와 PUI (Physical User Interface) 디자인을 적용했습니다. 이를 위해 전동 공구에서 영감을 얻은 비대칭 타원의 단면을 적용하여 자연스러운 그립감을 형성하고, 손 크기에 맞는 충분한 그립부 길이와 직관적인 택트 스위치를 줌인·아웃 버튼으로 활용했습니다. 또한, 안정적인 파지를 위해 마이크로 타공 패턴과 SF 코팅을 적용해 마찰력을 극대화했습니다. 그립부 형상은 사이즈코리아 및 NTL HEALTHCARE의 사용자 데이터, NU:BRID의 인체공학 스터디 자료를 기반으로 크로스 체크하여 완성했습니다.
The core goal of this project was to develop a design that considers both user ergonomics and diverse operating environments. Given the product’s global market reach, the design incorporated various hand sizes and user preferences across different demographics. Inspired by power tools, an asymmetrical oval cross-section was applied to the grip to naturally guide hand positioning. The elongated grip accommodates different hand sizes, and traditional tactile switches were used for zoom-in and zoom-out functions to ensure intuitive operation. To enhance grip stability, a micro-perforated texture and SF coating were applied to maximize friction. The grip’s final shape was determined by cross-referencing data from Size Korea, NTL HEALTHCARE’s customer studies, and NU:BRID’s ergonomic research.
자궁경부촬영기라는 특수한 의료 기기로서, 사용자와 환자 모두에게 신뢰감을 줄 수 있도록 디자인 접근 방식을 정립했습니다. 단순한 카메라 형태를 탈피해 의료 기기로서의 전문성을 강조하는 디자인을 적용했으며, 차가운 인상을 줄이기 위해 부드럽고 따뜻한 Seashell 컬러를 키 컬러로 선정했습니다. 모든 재료와 마감이 하나의 솔리드한 덩어리처럼 보이도록 통일감을 주었으며, SF 마감의 매트한 질감과 하이 글로시 엣지 처리를 조화롭게 배치하여 견고하면서도 세련된 인상을 완성했습니다. 이번 프로젝트를 통해 NU:BRID는 의료 기기의 디자인이 단순한 기능적 요소를 넘어, 사용자의 경험을 배려한 형태와 감성적 접근이 필수적임을 다시 한번 확인할 수 있었습니다. 앞으로도 NU:BRID는 기술과 감성이 조화를 이루는 의료 제품 디자인을 지속적으로 연구해 나갈 것입니다.
As a specialized medical device, the design approach prioritized building trust for both users and patients. Moving away from a conventional camera-like appearance, the design emphasized medical precision and professionalism while avoiding an overly clinical or intimidating look. A warm and soft Seashell color was chosen as the key color to create a welcoming aesthetic. Materials and finishes were harmonized to appear as a single, cohesive form, with matte SF coating and high-gloss edges strategically applied to create a solid yet refined presence. This project reaffirmed NU:BRID’s belief that medical device design should extend beyond function, incorporating user-centric form and emotional considerations. NU:BRID remains committed to exploring design solutions that seamlessly blend technology and human-centered aesthetics for future medical innovations.
